Good Music, Good Coffee, Good Company

October Highlights – We had a great show last month.

rufus harris - got the evening off to a great start performing some nice selections from the self-titled CD.  Band Members-Jeannine, Ralf & SID shown here.
The Poet’s Corner – We’ll listen to more readings from the thought-provoking writings of CS Lewis  – The Screwtape Letters.    Learn about Uncle Screwtape and his nephew’s deceitful plots against mankind.

Thank You – We would like to thank those of you who responded to our request for volunteers.  A special thanks to Jack Wyatt and Tino Barrera who stayed after the show last month to help with teardown.  We broke down in record time.  We would also like to take this time to thank the people on our 4thFridays team: Rod Sledge – our soundman; Mildred Sheats - admission, Marvin Sheats – power point; Mike Brewer - Lighting.  And our awesome houseband – Ralf Patterson (bass); Paul Kelley; (guitar & vocals) Jeannine Gardner (drums); SIDney Howard (keys); Chester Price (vocals); and Douglas Roberts (vocals). You guys are wonderful. We couldn’t do this without you!

Next on stage was singer and songwriter - Jan Krist.  What a gifted and nice lady! She started singing folk tunes in the early 80’s.  Since then she has performed all over the country and has released numerous albums.  We were delighted to have her on our stage last month.

Jan is a very laid back artist with a musical style that is incredibly soothing.  Her sound is folk with an alternative flavor.  Her husband Alan shared the stage with her playing percussion while Jim Bizer accompanied her on guitar and shared a tune of his own.  You can clearly hear the maturity and sophistication in Jan’s music. Her stage presence and vocal stylings captivated the audience. She was a delight to listen to.  Check out her newly-designed website at www.jankrist.com.
