Last month’s show featured a lot of variety thanks to our unique musical guests. Country Artist Sam Dougherty came to us all the way from Sherwood, Michigan - Western MI - and shared some terrific tunes from his latest release, Six Strings & God. Sam Dougherty ![]() His music is country with a nice mix of Contemporary Pop. Sam shared some of the spiritual lessons he’s learned in his Christian walk and how his music is a reflection of these lessons. A fabulous singer and strong writer, Sam’s music was heartfelt and inspiring. We hope to have him back at 4thFridays real soon! |
Next on
stage was a unique local Jazz Artist. Take a pinch of Jimmy Hendricks,
a dash of Lenny Kravitz and a spoon full of Prince and what do you get?
- Damon Terrell. He’s a skilled guitarist and keyboardist and
is definitely fun to watch on stage. Also know as "Mr. Versatile",
Damon delivered an
Damon Terrell ![]() electrifying set performing everything from smooth jazz tunes to delivering
a healthy dose of rock and roll. With lots of energy, Damon ran back
and forth across the stage and even stood on a stool at one point as he
played guitar. People laughed at the end when Rufus commented – “I
was waiting for him to set his guitar on fire”.

| 4thFridays'
house band – rufus harris, closed the evening out performing a dynamic
20 minute set. And of course there was lots of good fellowship at
the end.

Next a
look at what’s coming up on July 26th.
4thFridays welcomes Jazz Guitarist and Vocalist Paul Dozier. Originally from Los Angeles he and wife, Kathy made the move to Detroit in 1996. A multi-talented artist, Paul plays multiple instruments including guitar, bass, drums, and saxophone. He brings a jazzy blend of instrumental and vocal arrangements which seem to have no boundaries; ranging from Christian Contemporary to Smooth Jazz. This guy is certainly no amateur. Paul has played across the US, in Europe, and Jamaica and has shared the stage with Phil Driscoll, The Clark Sisters, Bobby Jones, and Shirley Caesar to name a few.
