July Highlights -
Exciting is perhaps the best word to describe last month’s show. It was a beautiful summer evening – a day many people would consider spending outdoors at the park or perhaps on the lake. However at about 8pm, a long line formed outside Studio A and in no time several 4thFridays fans packed the room making the July show our largest show to date.

rufus harris – shared some new tunes from the upcoming release – How Do You Read It? The house band performed the title song of the album as well as a tune called Left with Questions and It’s Not About.... The songs revealed more of a rock-driven edge than the previous project. But there were Rufus’ trademark guitar solos with thought-provoking lyrics that engaged the audience with practical, sound teaching.

The new CD is being manufactured and will be available this month. The music is incredible - the packaging - creative! Listeners are sure to find the content innovative and relevant. If you would like to pre-order the CD, send a check or money order for $12.99 to Red Letter Records 5119 Highland Road PMB #207 Waterford, MI 48327. Soon look for a special invite to the release party!

Rap Artist – Knowgood - When we first heard this guy we were absolutely impressed and felt he would be a good fit for the 4thFridays' show - especially for The Poet's Corner. We’ve never featured a rap artist at 4F so this was going to be interesting, we thought.
Actually, Knowgood was great! He opened up his set with – believe it or not - the classic song Blue Moon – as a practical joke. The audience roared in laughter as he confessed he was “just kidding”.
Knowgood delivered a compelling performance winning over the 4F audience in no time. He and DJ – Edward “Scissorhands” – lit up the stage. Knowgood was articulate and on top of it all - a very clever writer. He shared his story of how he had signed a multi-million dollar contract. The album was finished but in the middle of shooting a music video he pulled out because he had committed his life to Christ. He talked about the influence of rap music and how he felt God was using him to reach young and old with the Gospel.

Ed was a master on the turntable doing elaborate spins and scratches - quite impressive! He proved to be an artist in his own right. At one point Knowgood left the stage and let “Scissorhands” do his thing. If you missed this outstanding performance, don’t worry. We’ll have these guys back real soon!

Troy Michael and Soul to Soul – Whether you like Gospel blues or not, you would have loved these guys. Troy takes blues to a whole new level with his impressive vocal delivery, serious guitar playing, and straight up gospel message. Troy performed at our very 4thFridays show back in March 2002. We were happy to welcome him back along with his dynamic band. The guys delivered an outstanding encore performance introducing the genre of Gospel blues to many who had never heard of it before.
Troy will be opening a new coffeehouse in Pontiac later this year and is currently in the studio working on a new album.

Here’s a look at what’s coming up on August 22nd

Contemporary Christian Artist - Aden Springsteen -
Aden believes in using his musical gifts to bring glory to God. A powerful vocalist and talented songwriter, Aden has accomplished a lot in a relatively short period of time. He competed in the Vickie Winans Gospel Talent Search and got the attention of Gospel Singer and Pastor – Marvin Winans. He then had the opportunity to record backup vocals for Mom and Pop Winans on their Family and Friends II album. But if that wasn’t enough - Aden was even invited to sing the National Anthem at the Detroit Tigers Game at Comerica Park. In addition, he has performed twice with Christian singer Babbie Mason. He’ll share songs from his new solo project Everlasting Praise when he takes the 4F stage on Aug. 22nd. To learn more about Aden, visit his website at
