Volume 4 Issue 3
"First there
was the calm... then angels flew over and then... the storm!"
We really
mixed it up last month - music wise that is. Where else can you go... to hear
live music consisting of a classical guitarist, a rock/rap band that
sounds like Kid Rock and the sounds of Rufus Harris all in one
evening? At 4thFridays! the house
band... Knowgood - Originally, we had a guy from Saginaw
named Lavel scheduled for this month. Unfortunately, he couldn't
make it but Hip
Hop Artist - Knowgood was happy to help us out. OTHER NEWS: TheCamp
- What is it? We've had that
question. It stands for Christian Artists and Musicians
Project. It is the newly formed non-profit organization (pending
501(c)(3) status) that presents 4thFridays every month. Also
under TheCamp umbrella are: Prison Ministry Events, Internet
Radio, Concerts/Outreaches, and Artists Resources. You will hear
this name more and more in the upcoming year. And stay tuned for
a new website currently underway. This 4thFridays' show photography by Denise

Here
We Go...
Paul having heard the soundchecks of the
bands which would precede his performance likened his own
music to peace and tranquility and said that when he hears Rufus' music
he envisions angels flying over, and that listening to Omega Force was
like feeling the force of a storm.
and a new song
from his upcoming album - called Blessed Way. During
sound check, our lighting guy - Mike asked "so where have you been
hiding this guy?" We'll, actually Paul is
no stranger to the 4thFridays' stage. He performed
back in 2002. Only he wasn't exactly himself back
then - that is - he was the apostle Paul. Not only
is Paul a singer, writer and guitarist but an actor as well.
In our Poet's Corner, he very eloquently recited some of
the letters of the Apostle Paul entirely from memory.
His versatility is quite unique and we agree - bringing
him back was long overdue. For more information
about Paul, visit www.paulmckenzieministries.com.
There is no
other way to say it, "Omega force rocked the house!!" - without being
too loud (at least not to us). These guys are certainly not
ashamed of proclaiming the Gospel. Their bold
performance, clever blend of rock and rap, coupled
with an endtimes message, made them both
entertaining and absolutely memorable. They shared
songs from Nu Mission. Rufus said about Omega Force,
"...skillful, technically wonderful guitar solos without pride
with the focus all on Jesus!" And what kind of bass player has a
seven string bass!? How about one that can play it.!

That he could! For more info about
them visit: www.omegaforceband.com
Then a pleasant
surprise - at the suggestion of the coffee
brewmister (Some call him - LarryO., some call him - Lawerence, while
others call him -
Kind of
Thoughtful!), right before the break, Rufus announced a surprise for the audience. The crew passed out a
red rose and a Roche (that's one of those fancy chocolates) to each of
the ladies in attendance in celebration of Valentine's Day.
(Hopefully, the gents didn't feel left out.) We're working on
something unique for the guys too! Look for it!
rufus harris was great. The tunes they shared once
again focused the attendees' hearts and minds on God and challenged us to be a unified body of
believers. Rufus closed out with 2BPraised.

Happy Birthday 4thFridays!
Not Our Own -In 2000, this husband and wife duo felt
God's leading to form their current group, "Not Our Own" (derived from
1 Corinthians 6:19,20) and to begin writing and
performing their own
music. In 2001 they released their
first CD entitled "Would You Be Ready?" which contains all original
music. Several of the songs on the album have themes dealing with some
of the struggles Christians face today. Don't Look Back is a song about
overcoming the doubts and fears associated with doing God's will when
it gets tough. Would You Be Ready? - the title cut
- asks the question we should all know the answer to...if Jesus
returned right now, would we be ready? Other songs address issues
like discouragement, commitment to Christ, and having a heart for
evangelism. They'll share the stage this week. And
check out their website: www.notourown.com
Angel Rivers - We're
happy to welcome back this poet extraordinaire. She
first took the stage back in October of 2003 at Rufus' album release
party. Since that time she has written some new
material that you will love. She'll also
incorporate some cool music underneath as well. Don't
miss it!
And
we're happy to have him back. He's one of the best Christian
rappers around. You're never left figuring out what he's trying
to say and he avoids the typical cliches. Last time Knowgood
shared at 4thFridays, he really had people talking. His stories
of how he turned his back on the lure of the secular hip hop world and
how he got his name were fascinating. Find out what he's been
working on lately at this month's show. Check out his website at www.knowgood.com
Coffee - Our brewmister invites you stop by the
coffee table to enjoy this month's featured flavor. Also enjoy
popular Purple Passion Tea. And of course there will be de-caf
and the 4thFridays houseblend for those who like it strong and robust.
It was a snowy night but it
felt really warm inside with
the friendly staff and all of you wonderful folks who came out to
support us. That really touched us. Thank you so
much! Divine Caffe offers live entertainment every weekend.
For a list of upcoming artists visit them online at www.divinecaffe.com. Please support this
Christian-owned cafe. The owners John and Norann are great folks
who add a special touch to everything they do. And the coffee is
divine!
